Loosen Brothers 'Dr L' Dry Riesling  '16 Mosel, Germany.  $37.

Lifted aromas of fresh cut apples and minerals on the bouquet is followed by pure fruit intensity on the mid-palate and extraordinary length.

Dr Loosen 'Bernkasteler Lay' Riesling Kabinett '15. Mosel, Germany  $50.

How can something that is so light in alcohol have such incredible palate weight and texture? It's an art form and Ernst Loosen is a master. The Kabinett style means a decent lick of residual sugar, but the steely, crunchy acid means you'll hardly notice it. Simply stunning.

Stargazer Riesling '17. Coal River Valley, Tasmania.  $42.

Crammed with vibrant green apple and citrus yuzu notes on the nose, as well as lifted jasmine and pickled ginger aromatics. The palate’s bright acidity and talcy texture are balanced with a gentle fruit sweetness and a zesty finish, all whilst being framed by some structural phenolics.

Mac Forbes 'Spring' Riesling '17. Strathbogies.  $42.

Slips of sweet red apple, lime rind and spice flavour move deliciously through the palate. Dangerous drinkability.

Pewsey Vale 'Prima 20GR' Eden Valley Riesling '18.  $37.

The palate shows great intensity, length and finesse with a vibrancy of perfumed fruits such as guava and mandarin overlaid with a touch of white cherry, sorbet and clove. The wine is succulent and mouth-watering.

Domaine Wachau Gruner Veltliner '16 Wachau, Austria.  $42.

Distinctive aromas on the nose of golden delicious apple, white pepper, some lychee and delicate herbal notes, hints of exotic fruits; medium bodied with a crisp acidity, very harmonious, juicy fruits and spicy in the finish.

FX Picher Gruner Veltliner Smaragd, Wachau, Austria.  $110.

The wine displays a very clear and pure, pretty open and lovely spicy, crystalline and flinty bouquet with ripe pip fruit aromas. Very distinguished and rather coolish in its expression. Full-bodied, round and elegant, with tension, salt and grip in the finish, this is a charmingly ripe and juicy but also challenging mineral and piquant Veltliner from one of the most exciting terroirs.

Dalzotto Arneis '16. King Valley.  $31.

There's a pithy citrus character, almost grapefruit, and a faint nuttiness. Fresh and buoyant in the mouth, the flavours are light, but in combination with the texture and acidity there's no sense of it being wanting. The lemony twist on the finish is perfectly in tune.

Dominique Portet Yarra Valley Sauvignon Blanc '18.  $37.

The flavours are clear, crisp with a delightful passionfruit character. It's a pure sauvignon blanc with lime blossom, white peaches and spring flowers wrapped up in a lovely creamy texture, from a little time in oak.

Sorrenberg Sauvignon Blanc Semilon '17. Beechworth.  $50.

The nose of the 2017 Sauvignon Blanc/ Semillon shows aromas of passionfruit and citrus. The palate combines these with gooseberry and desert lime intermingling with the minerality creating a wine with exceptional elegance and length.

Medhurst Sauvignon Blanc '17. Yarra Valley.  $35.

Fresh and lively aromas of grapefruit rind, nettles, guava and honeysuckle with complexing hints of toast and flint from barrel fermentation. This barrel fermentation and use of solids has enhanced the primary fruit aromas and flavours of passionfruit and grapefruit, supported by some mid-palate creaminess and refreshing chalky acidity.

Shantell Semillon '14. Yarra Valley.  $42.

This wine distinctive Semillon characters of gooseberries and tropical fruit, followed by hints of citrus and hay. The gooseberries and tropical fruit flavours lead onto a lively middle palate with appealing biscuity richness and good length, the finish clean and crisp.

Portsea Estate Mornington Peninsula Pinot Gris '18.  $37.

Lemon, lime, citrus rind, freshly sliced apple, nuanced barrel ferment characteristics. Fresh and focused acidity balanced with a fine mid-palate texture.

Turkey Flat Barossa Valley White '16. Marsanne / Roussanne / Viognier.  $37.

The underlying rich medley of fresh and roasted stone fruit is topped with a toasty note of spice-laced crumb. Balanced with a restrained, zesty hit of ginger on the lingering finish.

Pierre Armadieu 'Roulepierre' Cotes du Rhone, France.  $35.

Made from old Clairette vines, it develops floral and fruity peach flavors and a pleasant vivacity at the end of the mouth.

Jamsheed Beechworth Roussanne '18.  $45.

Gary's been picking this wine earlier and retaining great natural acidity, meaning that despite all of its texture and body it remains fresh and vibrant. If you're into your Chardonnays and other full-bodied whites then this will be right up your alley.

Garagiste Mornington Peninsula Aligote '17.  $55.

Aligoté is always going to play second fiddle to Chardonnay in its homeland (Burgundy, France), but you only need to look at the outstanding wines from the likes of Goisot, Ponsot, and de Villaine  to see what this variety is capable of under the right guidance.

Medhurst Yarra Valley Chardonnay '18.  $37.

The nose shows hints of grapefruit and stone fruit, both rich and flavoursome yet subtle. No real oak influence, but plenty of mealy, flinty notes. The palate is poised and powerful, showing off a benchmark Yarra Valley vintage.

Bobar 'Royale' Yarra Valley Chardonnay '17.  $60.

The Royale Chardonnay pretty much has its own postcode it’s that big. Oak and Buttery Malo and lots of it dominate the initial palate and the follow through is really very enjoyable. Great job Tom..

Sutherland Estate Yarra Valley Chardonnay '16.  $40.

An enticing nose of white peach, hazelnuts and citrus. Hand-picked and barrel fermented in new and seasoned French oak barriques. Barrel stirring gives the palate great length and creaminess, with a wonderful fresh minerality and texture.

Dalrymple 'Cave Block' Chardonnay '16 Piper's River, Tas.  $47.

Apple blossom and white peach are coerced from the glass with hints of crushed caper and cinnamon. Fresh quince and Asian spices add to the complexity. Fresh citrus and melon flavours are balanced with a fine fleshy texture and fine acidity. The subtle spice derived from the French barriques adds complexity as well as structure through the palate and into a clean fresh finish.

Two Tonne 'Ziggurat' Chardonnay Tamar Valley, Tas.  $40.

The Ziggurat Chardonnay has been produced with texture, freshness & flavour in mind. 25% of this wine was fermented on skins; a whole berry ferment, looking for gentle extraction.  Basket pressed to seasoned oak, this wine sat on lees for 3 months after spontaneous MLF occurred. The balance of the wine is whole bunch pressed, natural ferment in seasoned, large format oak, with partial MLF. These parcels where blended carefully to find balance between texture and purity.'

Bouchard Pere et Fils Bourgogne '14. Burgundy.  $40.

The nose offers up ripe pear and white peach scents with a light dried honey overlay followed by subtle cashew and stony mineral. Quite light in weight the palate is delicately flavoured with pear, white peach, subtle dried honey, cashew and mineral.

Domaine Laroche Petit Chablis '15.  $45.

The delicious result of pooling their talents with expert local winemakers, the Laroche Petit Chablis is a dry Chardonnay with flavours of green apple and white fruits, brought to life with an expertly balanced "one more glass, please" acidity. A true indulgence for anyone on Team Chardy.
