Payten & Jones 'Browne's Block' Kilmore Pinot Noir '17.  $50.

More body than many pinots, lovely mouth feel. Allow time for it to breathe in the glass and it opens up nicely in terms of fruit and bouquet.

Mt Terrible Jamieson Pinot Noir '15.  $60.

The full crimson-purple colour introduces a very high quality, ultra-fragrant pinot with the depth, complexity and length reminiscent of high quality Burgundies. Made with a sure touch.

Casa Freschi 'Ragazzi' Langhorne Creek Nebbiolo '15.  $39.

Savoury/spicy red cherry fruits on the bouquet and light to medium-bodied palate are of exemplary varietal character.

Ravensworth Hilltops Barbera '18.  $42.

This has drinkability stamped all over it. It's all spiced cherries, pips and kirsch with warm earth and a herbal/pine needle undertone, yet it has a savoury drive.

Payten & Jones Yarra Sangiovese '17.  $35.

A bright and juicy, immediately inviting style of Sangiovese here, not the dry, dusty wines so commonly associated with the variety.Juicy and fleshy style of Sangiovese. Macerated cherries, plums and spices.

Mt Langhi 'Vine Road' Grampians Shiraz '15.  $42.

Mount Langi Ghiran is an iconic premium coool climate Shiraz producer in Western Victoria, renowned for producing fragrant, spicy wines with elegance and character.

Fat Sparrow Heathcote Shiraz '16.  $35.

 This Heathcote Shiraz is expertly made to balance the sweeter fruit flavours of the region against the lovely mineral notes found in Heathcote’s highly prized soils.

Wood Park Reserve King Valley Zinfandel '13.  $60.

 Well balanced, opulent and medium - full bodied. Concentrated raspberries, fruitcake, white pepper, oak and vanilla all contribute to an elegant wine.

Tonic Clare Valley Grenache '18.  $45.

Mineral, graphite, strawberry, red cherry, herbs and …. tonic. You could describe this in myriad ways but it’s the lightness, the dryness, the way presence takes precedence over weight,

Pittnauer Blaufrankisch Heideboden Austria '16.  $45.

 Violets, firm red cherry, maraschino and earth. On the palate there’s fresh, firm-fleshed but not particularly sweet fruit. It’s medium-bodied and juicy at its heart, with definite tannin presence and bright acids giving shape and drive.

Phaesant's Tears 'Polyphonia' Field Blend '16 Kakheti, Georgia.  $65.

A field blend of 417 of the estimated 525 original red and white varieties in Georgia. They come from a small vine library (0.5 hectare)  in Kakheti. Matured in a qveri, (Ceramic egg buried underground) this wine has bags of fresh dark fruit. Incredibly moreish, this wine is a perfect step off into the unusual from the birthplace of wine.
