Lighter Reds.

Mon Tout Margaret River Rose '17.  $35.

Dry palate, good texture, the red fruits of the bouquet also contributing the primary flavours. Bright acidity is the foil and provides freshness on the finish.

Seville Estate Yarra Rose '16.  $33.

There's some texture, strawberries and raspberry-acidity, rose petals with the right amount of savouriness and a smidge of sweetness to keep everyone happy.

Le Grand Cros 'Aurelia' Provence Rose '15.  $50.

This is a rich, creamy wine, full bodied and packed with fruit. Ripe red-berry flavors are just touched by pepper and spice. A great wine at it's best with food.

Provenance Golden Plains Pinot Noir '18.  $42.

76% Geelong, 22% Ballarat, 2% Macedon, hand-picked, open-fermented with 30% whole bunches, matured for 10 months in French oak (25% new). A beautifully balanced pinot, which shows the influence of the relatively small Ballarat component.

Stoney Vineyard by Domaine A Tasmania Pinot Noir '17.  $50.

Bright aroma of raspberry and spice, along with hints of sage and mint. A harmonious palate with silky tannins and a long fruitful finish.

Domaine Bouchard 'La Vignee' Bourgogne '14.  $40.

Elegant small fruit flavours. A pleasantly balanced wine which reveals a harmonious blend of fruit and terroir.

Domaine Bouchard Coteaux Des Moines Reserve Bourgogne '14.  $55.

The La Vignee Bourgogne is gorgeous. This wine is sourced in the same way but the outstanding quality parcels are given more oak and they are natural more intense. This is classic plush, mineral and perfumed Burgundy with a nice hint of oak.

Domaine Joseph Drouin Volnay Burgundy '04.  $55.

When the wine is young, the aromas are reminiscent of violet and black currant. With age, the aromas take on notes of ripe or candied fruit, mushroom and mild spices. On the palate, a pleasant sensation of roundness and velvety texture.

Domaine Parent Pommard Bourgogne '13.  $60.

An earthy red berry fruit nose exhibits hints of the sauvage and forest floor, there is good intensity to the attractively precise and vibrant flavors.

Domaine Vincent Girardin Santenay Burgundy '15.  $80.

Dark black cherry, fresh spice and tar aromas. Bright, with nice red fruit weight and balanced by a clean mineral edge. A nice core of fruit on the good finish. This is a very flexible food wine.

Domaine Confuron - Cotetidot Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru '11. Burgundy.  $190.

An exceptionally pretty and admirably pure nose of red currant, spice and mineral hints merges seamlessly into detailed, vibrant and utterly delicious medium-bodied flavors that echo the minerality of the nose. There is excellent balance and refined tannins on the mildly austere but beautifully lingering finale.

Unico Zelo 'Halcyon Days' Riverland Nero D'Avola '18.  $45.

This is a finer-boned expression of the variety - perhaps a more 'Pinot-esque' version of Nero and delicious thing to drink!

Pietradolce Etna Rosso Nerello Mascalese '16. Etna, Sicily.  $55.

40-50 year old vines. Aged mostly in steel with a short passage in old barrels, this medium bodies wine is bright and juicy with red fruits, the palate pleasingly tannic and refreshing with classic mineral notes of Nerello from Etna.
